| Almyra Hotel |
Following extensive refurbishment, Thanos Hotels relaunched The Paphos Beach Hotel as Almyra in March 2004. The two phase renovation process took approximately two years at a total investment cost in excess of CYP 5 million, bringing the property in line with the family-run group's other luxury properties - Anassa and The Annabelle.
All the rooms have been enlarged and redesigned and the signature suite, aptly named the Kyma Suite (wave in Greek) features a rooftop terrace that offers breathtaking views of the sea and the harbour. The two freshwater pools were rebuilt to include one especially for children and the two main restaurants have been relaunched to reflect the new look and feel of Almyra. Guests can look forward to creative cuisine, with menus that reflect the contemporary nature of the hotel.
Almyra has the feel of a contemporary seaside resort and families play a key part at Almyra with a dedicated children's club with extra facilities and special children's menus.
Its location also means that guests have the advantage of being close to the sea, while also within walking distance of the shops, castle, the house of Dionysos with its stunning mosaics and many attractions as well as being near to the three Pafos golf courses.
Almyra is set in eight acres of landscaped gardens with unobstructed views of the harbour.
ROOMS
Almyra, Thanos Hotels’ new contemporary Mediterranean resort in Pafos, is situated on the west coast of Cyprus minutes away from the archaeological sites of the old town with uninterrupted views across the bay towards the medieval castle and harbour of Pafos. All 190 rooms offer a choice of garden or sea view and either a private terrace, balcony or floor-to-ceiling sliding windows. There are double rooms, junior suites, one- and two-bedroom suites and the luxurious ‘Kyma’ suites, which have a private terrace right on the seafront. The interiors possess a modern Mediterranean feel, with custom-designed furniture and cool, light fabrics in natural tones.
RESTAURANTS
Almyra offers a choice of three restaurants - each very different, but each reflecting the tastes of this contemporary seaside resort.
Guests can either enjoy the buffets at the Mosaics Restaurant, which is also where the
scrumptious breakfasts are served. Mosaics is the main restaurant of the hotel and the meals are focused on pleasing all taste buds. Featuring a live kitchen, the flavours are varied and the theme of this restaurant is mainly of an international flavour.
Notios Restaurant, has the most perfect setting that makes for a great ambience. Situated between the impressive blackfaced swimming pool and the gardens and with the most awesome views of the sea and the harbour, Notios'setting is only rivaled by its cuisine. Under the guidance of our highly acclaimed Executive Chef who comes to us from London, Notios offers a relaxed but pleasing lunch menu. The dinner menu focuses on dishes that have a Mediterranean base with a Japanese bias. The different flavour combinations are something that can only be tried to really appreciate.
